Riverbound: A Heritage Deli, LLC

Riverbound: A Heritage Deli is the newest old deli in town. It boasts a rich and lengthy heritage, which was started by the Kiefer family in 1948. Joel Shenk and Christina Stoltzfus, husband and wife, purchased the stand from Joel's uncle and aunt in March 2011. They will carry on the family tradition of providing quality meats and cheeses to customers at Lancaster's Central Market. The name Riverbound comes from Joel's Great Grandpa's family farm. Also, the farm, named Riverbound Farm Dairy, was the place where the famous Shenk's Cup Cheese got its start. Because Joel's family has been a presence in Market and the food industry since the 1800's, naming the deli after the farm seemed like a natural choice.
