Senorita Burrita

Jenn Foster spent 21 years of her life on the west coast before moving from Chico, California to Lancaster. Admittedly, it was a bit of a culture shock for her at the time but she managed to hang in there and Lancaster's a better place for it! Jenn missed a lot about the west coast, but mostly she missed California mission-style burritos. Dutch Country food was cool in it's own way but it just wasn't cutting it for this California girl. In CA, Jenn worked in a record store which was next to a burrito shop and her days were filled with music and burritos. Those were good old days. In 2003, after a lot of dreaming and planning, Senorita Burrita opened it's doors at 227 N. Prince St. downtown Lancaster:The heart of city life!

In 2006, Senorita Burrita opened a 7 by 10 foot stand in Central Market. They are able to sell the entire restaurant menu, as well as their homemade salsas and the very popular homemade iced teas and lemonades. Jenn's mango lemonade on a hot day in the market sure hits the spot.

Here's a bit from Jenn about the building blocks of the Burrita business; the burrito!

“Did you know burritos were originated in California...not Mexico? This type of cuisine is known for it's generous proportions with a healthy flair. All the sauces, soups and salsas are prepared fresh on a daily basis. Our guacamole and vegetarian chili have magical powers to make your day a better one. Some of our customers prefer a little kick and add our Jalapeno Garlic Sauce or our Guatemalan Spicy BBQ Sauce, which is made from Square One Coffee. All of our Specialty Burritos can be made into beautiful healthy salads. We have loaded nachos that fill you up and homemade soups made by Mama Foster herself. (my mom, Cathy Foster)”

“I feel so honored to be a part of the Central Market Family. I love to see Lancaster City thrive and every time I'm in the market I am reassured that it's thriving. In my off time, I dive into farming our own organic vegetables from the restaurant's private garden. Most of the food that we serve I grow from seed or I purchase it locally, often from Central Market itself. It's very important to me that we offer our customers food with integrity and heart.”
