Knoll Farm

Spring Knoll Farm

A wholesome family environment was the motivating factor for Daniel and Allison Sullivan to move, nearly a decade ago, onto a farm in Lancaster County. For seven years, the Sullivan family has been selling fresh cut wild flowers at Central Market and have been thrilled during that time to to have each of their three children work at the stand. Initially the Sullivan's came to market to find an outlet for the fresh flowers that Allison was growing so successfully on their family farm. They are a first generation market family and a recent expansion to their stand, more than doubling it's size, speaks of their commitment to being a part of Central Market for many generations to come.

Spring Knoll's primary products are the fifty to sixty varieties of wild flowers that grow on their Lancaster County farm. They come into season and are freshly cut from April to October. Arranging their flowers into bunches and pre-made bouquets, one of the popular arrangements they make is the “Country Bouquet” with it's components changing throughout the year depending on whats in season. Depending on the month, it could contain Zinneas, Lisianthus, Statice, or Mexican Sage. The Sullivan's also grow varieties of Pussy Willow, which they sell in decorative bunches. They carry several varieties of house plants, herbs, and vegetables as well. These usually are sold in the spring as starter plants for your gardens.

A unique item that is worth a look is the hand -carved wooden flowers that a are imported from Chile. Domingo Rubalar spends hours carving carving each of these unique and breath-taking decorations. He lives in the lakes region of Chile and the agreement the Sullivan's have with Domingo is Fair Trade Certified.

The sense of family runs deeply throughout in Central Market. At Spring Knoll farm, it runs deep and wide. Be sure to say hello to Daniel or Allison next time you're shopping Central Market.
